What is a Church School? The Archbishop of Canterbury explains:

“A Christian school is one in which the atmosphere has that kind of openness about it, that sense that people are worth spending time with, that people need time to grow, need loving attention. The Christian Gospel says that every person has a unique task to do, with God, and for God, whether they know it or not. It doesn’t necessarily mean that everyone involved has to share the same theology or philosophy. It doesn’t mean that everyone knows that they have this relationship with God, and is consciously working at it. But a Christian school is one in which the entire atmosphere is pervaded by a conviction that there is something mysterious, and potentially wonderful, in everybody.”

The Rector - Rev Ben Sear

The most significant thing I can say about myself is that I am a Christian (which is a good thing really, given I am a Vicar), which means that I follow Jesus, trusting that, by knowing him I have found life forever, but also life as it was meant to be lived. I’m a Vicar/Rector because I enjoy helping people to know Jesus and the hope he brings. I originally studied Biochemistry at Southampton University with the intention of living out the childhood ambition of becoming a scientist, however as time went by, I felt that God was calling me to become a minister in his church and the rest, as they say, is history. Claudia and I have been married for nearly five years, having met at Theological College and getting married at the end of our second year.  We have two daughters. Phoebe is two and a half and is currently a massive fan of Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom and collecting insects. Robyn is four weeks old at the time of writing and we’re looking forward to discovering what she is like.

I’m a fan of playing tennis, music and being with friends. As a family we enjoy spending time with family and friends and are looking forward to moving to Maresfield and getting to know you all.        Ben

At Bonners we believe that every member of our school community is unique, created in God’s image, and precious to Him. Christians are called to ‘love your neighbour as yourself’: this means that we have a responsibility to one another to look for, bring out, and encourage in one another the very best we can.  Indeed, our School logo is 'Floreat Bonners' which means 'May Bonners flourish.' To be the best we can be, to ‘flourish’ and ‘aspire’ we need to welcome and employ in the life, work, and relationships of our school community the teaching, example, and Spirit of Jesus.
