Dr Lara Hutchins (Roberts) - Foundation Governor.

Background Experience: I am a GP and have practiced Medicine for thirteen years. I am currently working part-time as a Locum GP and teaching medical students part-time at Brighton and Sussex Medical School. I am on the executive committee of a medical-legal indemnity company for GP’s and have delivered business strategic and support within their complaints advisory service. I am also on the Buxted Parochial Church council. I live in Buxted with my husband and two daughters, one who currently attends Buxted School.

Interests: I am interested in child development, health and wellbeing and how individuality is nurtured to enable a child to achieve their true potential and that through learning children are “inspired” to “aspire”. I support the Church of England’s foundations and how Christian values are integrated within the vision and ethos across the Federation.

Roles and Responsibility: I am a Foundation Governor and part of the Health and Well-Being and Christian Ethos committees.

Lyndsey Rogers – Parent Governor

Background: I am a paediatric nurse with 20 years experience.  My speciality for many years was diabetes but more recently I have moved to a reviewing, supporting & educating role within an NHS Integrated Care Board.  I live in Maresfield with my son (who attends Bonners), my step-daughter (when she is not away at university) and my Husband.  I was keen to become a parent governor to strengthen the working relationship between parents & schools to ensure the best outcomes for our children.  I am passionate about special educational needs and ensuring the school is inclusive to all children and parents.

Interests: I am an avid netball player and I love walking my crazy dog, Daisy.  Health and wellbeing is really important to me and I am keen to promote this for the children in our community too.

Ros Moss - Parent Governor

Background: I have worked in the charity sector for over 15 years and now work for the Sussex Wildlife Trust in a membership engagement and fundraising role. I am passionate about caring for the natural world and wildlife and believe nature and time spent outside can support and enhance educational priorities and outcomes. I live in Buxted and have two sons who attend the school.

Interests: As a family we love spending time exploring our local area. I also like to bake and keep active with time at the gym or at our allotment.

Linda Huggett - LA Governor

Background: I have forty two years experience in primary education. I undertook two headships in Surrey and took early retirement in 2013. I then worked briefly as an educational case worker. In 2014 I joined Access to Education in Surrey, working with children who were not accessing education due to a variety of medical,  behavioural and special needs. I was a behaviour specialist and developed programmes to integrate children  into mainstream or special education.

I am looking forward to using my considerable experience and skills to ensure a high quality education for all the children within the federation.

Interests: I am a voracious reader and a member of two book clubs. I enjoy all music and attend many concerts with my husband. For some years I have been learning to play the piano, with limited success!

For exercise I swim every weekday morning. I enjoy watching tennis and football and am a passionate supporter of Crystal Palace.

Richard Ellis - Co-opted Governor

Background: I have a varied experience in education and creative technologies having taught film and animation for children's workshops and in adult education. I’ve worked in Learning and Development creating online elearning and video training solutions for Sussex Police and I currently teach Visual Effects and Animation to Computing and Digital Media degree students at the University of Sussex.

Interests: I have one child at Bonners school and another at Nursery. I'm passionate about the potential of art and creativity and the way that technology can enhance this. I’m keen to give support and expertise where I can to help the learning and experience for children at Bonners and Buxted Schools.

Charlotte Vickery – Staff Governor

Background experience: I am the Early Years Foundation Stage lead, DSL and Deputy Headteacher at Bonners CE Primary School & Nursery. I teach in the reception class and lead the Nursery. I have completed the NPQML & NPQSL and currently facilitate the NPQEYL for Ambition. I am a moderator for East Sussex County Council which enables me to share my practice with a variety of schools across the county.

Interests: Being a foundation stage teacher I am particularly interested in cross curricular learning and learning through hands on experiences. Within my teaching I try to instill a love of learning and exploration.

Governor Responsibilities: Staff Governor.

Jenny Eadon – Vice Chair Co-opted Governor

Background experience: I have had a long career in Further and Higher Education, culminating in Director of Curriculum encompassing several disparate departments, from level 1 to degree courses.

Interests: I am interested in how we learn. I think all learners should be challenged and encouraged to deliver their full potential. The learning environment should provide academic, artistic, cultural and physical experiences that foster lifelong enthusiasm and enjoyment of discovery in learners. Learners should be encouraged to develop self-confidence and

discipline, alongside respect and understanding for other cultures, traditions and people. I am always keen that the young mind should be broadened and deepened to become aware that there is more to know, something extra to find out. There is little more rewarding than to see a nurtured, young intellect blossom into full expansive maturity.

Governor responsibilities: Governor responsibilities:  Vice-chair of Governors . I am the Governor responsible for Safeguarding and Inclusion. Champion of SEN.

Ben Sear – Foundation Governor

I became the Rector of Maresfield Church in 2019, though I was a member of the congregation previously until 2012.  I originally studied biochemistry at university and worked for the Medical Research Council before starting my theological training.  Prior to our arrival in Maresfield, I was based in Patcham (Brighton) for four years during my on-the-job training.

I am married to Claudia and have two daughters.  I am very glad to be part of village life and to have this opportunity to support the school and develop its links with the church.

Christina Pembrey - Co-opted Governor

Background: I have always had a keen interest in education and child development and after an undergraduate degree in Educational Psychology, qualified as a primary school teacher in 2009. Since then I have taught across the primary age range and developed a particular interest in children’s reading development. I’m excited to be on the governing body for SASF to help support the schools being the best they can be.

Interests: I am a mum of 3 boys, the eldest of which attends Buxted Primary School. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

Harriet Creamer - Co-opted Governor

Background

I am a lawyer by training and worked for many years as a partner in a large City law firm.  After a period of time out while my children were growing up, I returned to work as an independent consultant, advising on management and people development issues for a range of law firms across the UK and abroad.  I believe very strongly that all children and young people should be able to access an excellent education and have previously been a governor in both the private and the state sector.  I am also a trustee at St Peter & St James Hospice in Wivelsfield Green.

Interests

I am married with three grown up sons: the eldest lives and works in Madrid, the other two in London and I enjoy spending time with them when I can.  I’m a keen choral singer - I sing with The Bach Choir in London (of which I’m also a trustee) and am a huge supporter of music provision in schools.
